Summary

Lex Luger, wrestling megasensation and three-time world heavyweight champion, ruled the ring for years as "The Total Package." Whether he was making a dramatic entrance from a helicopter, defeating champ Hulk Hogan, or sculpting a near-perfect physique, Lex was on top of his game. Yet backstage, he was wrestling with addictions to sex, drugs, and alcohol - things he clung to even when his mistress died suddenly of a drug overdose and Lex went to jail. There, Lex faced the truth: he was losing the fight for his life. And still awaiting him was his most brutal opponent yet, when the wrestling champ found himself helplessly paralyzed from the neck down. In Wrestling with the Devil, Lex Luger reveals never-before-told stories from his career, his struggle with personal demons, and how, through unexpected faith, grace, and redemption, he overcame all odds to fight the only battle that really matters.

Brutally honest, and surprisingly moving

While I would have like the book to have been a bit long and to have concentrated on his career, this is a surprisingly brutal honest tale of a flawed man.

Not the Lex Luger I saw

Overall this is a good book, a bit rushed in sections and Lex does portray himself as being Hulk Hogan level of popular which is far from accurate.

Heart breaking, Sad and yet inspirational all in one. I'd like more wrestling stories.

A story of a little hope is all you need

Lex is a true redemption story that I think can shine a light that no matter how bad things get that there is hope for all of us 🙏🏻

Leaves a lot out of the story

Ok but very short. Leaves a lot of information out of the story. Seems to gloss over a lot and could do with more information to fill In the missing part.
Leave a lot unanswered. Not a lot of wrestling either. So if your looking for a wrestling story. This is not it.

great but tragic story

The story has to be told as a lesson to many, that after living a life of sin you can have redeption.

Good story.

I admire Lex in the way he has come back from adversity. I also admire the frankness in which he admits his wrongdoing.
