The biography is quite interesting but too long for my liking and a bit repetitive. I didn't actually get to the end as I just couldn't listen to the narrator any longer without falling asleep. This is the 2nd biog I have disliked due to poor narration, the other one being of Hugh Laurie. Why highly paid actors allow their stories to be told by droning robots is beyond me. In contrast, Alan Cummings Autobiography is excellent and he reads it himself.
The guy who is reading sounds like a Sat-Nav I honestly think it could be an artificial voice if he wasn't reading it I'm sure it would be bearable
If I could get my money back I would
Could have sounded like a human and put some emotion in to his voice
My mistake I should have listened before I purchased
I love Tom Hanks... so when I saw this book, I thought "alright!", a book on Hanks! Well the story was fairly decent as far as I listened, but the narration was awful. I tried to get past the drone of the reader, but just got very tired of it. He ruined the story. I will have to try and find another "Hanks" bio. If you don't mind the slow drone of the narrators voice, you might enjoy this story. The narrator just does not fit well! Read by a different person would make a difference.
"Better if narrated by Hanks"
There seems to be no point to this book. May have been more interesting if Tom Hanks read it himself
