Publisher's Summary

At 24, Philippa Moore is overweight, unhappily married, and still living in her hometown of Hobart, Tasmania. After a wake-up call in a department-store changing room, Phil suddenly realises that she is on the wrong path. With determination she starts to shed the kilos and makes a confronting discovery: She is in charge of her own life.

Starting over again in Melbourne, she launches an award-winning health and fitness blog, Skinny Latte, and finds the courage to leave her marriage. She then sets out on an international odyssey, travelling the length and breadth of North America and throwing herself into every new experience she encounters.

An intuitive friend predicts that true love is in her future, but, still scarred from her failed relationship, she can scarcely bring herself to believe it. When she arrives in London, though, she finds the life she has always been looking for, coming to realise that excuses for not doing the things you dream of doing are just that: excuses.

The Latte Years is the brave story of a life restarted, of the battles still to be won once the 'after' photo has been taken. Told with humour, insight and a great deal of coffee, it shows that we have the power to change anything and inspires us to live our best, most authentic life.

Philippa Moore is a writer, editor and award-winning blogger who has held a lifelong fascination with language and stories. Her writing has been published widely, and she also hosts a popular podcast, Book Ends, featuring interviews with leading contemporary writers. She was the author of the award-winning health and fitness blog Skinny Latte Strikes Back, which was one of the UK's most popular health and fitness blogs. Philippa now lives in North London with her husband, Tom, and many pairs of running shoes.

    "Inspiring"
What made the experience of listening to The Latte Years the most enjoyable?

Great exploration of one woman's motivation and determination to make changes within her life inspired by her life experiences and craving to be the person she believed she could be.

This book inspired me to look at how one person can achieve anything if they truly believe in themselves and that the support of others can support and hinder life's paths at various times within your life. This book has inspired me to look at my own believes and goals and Philipas experiences could in various areas relate to areas we all experience in life.

This book talks about 'blogging' and sharing your thoughts and feelings to inspire others but also to help you reflect on your own actions, I think from this I will consider blogging myself and to consider my goals and aims at a different level. This book I believe is based upon a real life diary of someone's experiences, making it very a realistic account of someone's journey.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Philipa was really the main character within this book, she talks about her life and how she makes changes to get to where she wants to be. Portraying quite a down to earth character that could be anyone of us.

What about Philippa Moore and Federay Holmes ’s performance did you like?

The storyline was clear and easy to understand and listen to. The book was a good amount of hours for a book.

"A well written, warm and loving adventure"

Ordinary life and ordinary every-day demons overcome one step at a time through running, weight loss, mistakes and fragile-but-growing self confidence

The beauty of this book is how relatable it is to our lives. I'm a 30 year old man who has never been married but the insecurities, doubts and painful search for validation are as true for.me as they are for the 5 friends from different walks of life I've recommended this book to.

Its a well written, warm and loving adventure that quietly inspires. Ive bookmarked all over the book for poignant moments, quotes and perspectives.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone, especially those looking at life and thinking there should be more happiness/adventure/clarity than this (even if they don't realise they're doing it). A lovely listen/read.

    "Not for me."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Nothing.

Has The Latte Years put you off other books in this genre?

I don't know what genre this comes under.i expected a story not a memoir.but that will teach me to take more notice of the details given.memoir is part of the title so how dumb am I.

Have you listened to any of Philippa Moore and Federay Holmes ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Only reason I picked this book was it was read by federay Holmes I think she is a first class narrator and I thought I could listen to anything read by her.but sadly no.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Latte Years?

As I only listened to about 15 minutes I can't comment on that.

    Any additional comments?

I feel that the genre of this book should be made clearer.is it a biography or a self help book.?its certainly not fiction.

"so inspiring, a non-stop rollercoaster ride!"

A wonderfully open and honest diary of a small town girl who put herself out in the big wide world and lived her life to the fullest, for better or for worse. I'm proud to know you Philippa, and wish you every success in your future Xx
