This story is so inspirational! It is fantastic also to hear it read by the father who wrote it, I watched the documentary film afterwards but it was nowhere near as good as the book. Too much was cut out - however it was interesting to compare the two. I would definitely recommend this amazing journey, and adventure and story of endurance. Loved it!
I was overwhelmed by sheer scale of the task that Rupert Issacson and his dear wife set them selfs, their selflesness was quite extraordinary the journey they undertook was a crusade that Ruperts faith would better his sons quality of life was unshakable.
I don't want to say any more as it would only spoil the book, I was almost in tears at various parts and would recommend this as a must read.
A wonderful, insightful, beautiful family journey and extremely interesting. A real pleasure to listen to and makes you really contemplate it after each listen. I'll never forget it.
kept my interest and emotionally on the edge of my seat feeling for the parents every word of the book good luck rupet wishing you every success with your good work
The way it was read was wonderful. You could feel all the emotions pain, fear, heartache and the happiness that came at the end. Loved it.
What an inspiration. This is a journey of love for ones son hope and reward. Couldn't stop listening to it so disappointed when it finished I wanted to hear more.
Easy to listen to, great insight into autism.
Naturally written, good story,
This is really worth a read, it is a great inner look at problems autistic children have, they way this Dad coped is amazing! such dedication, love and patience he was brilliant.
The book details the events leading up to the journey and goes into great details along the way. I loved it.
You need to decide yourself as to the reasons the boy improved... its a mind twiddling journey with a wack wack wack! :)
I had seen the film before but watched it again after listening to Rupert's book. A book and film written through the big heart of an amazing family! Rupert tells his family's' story how it really is with tears and laughter!
This is story not only for people who deal with Autism or those who are interested in horses and their empathic power but for everybody to dare to go beyond the usual and seek physical and spiritual healing.
Rupert's reading style is fresh, humorous, serious and curious...brilliant listen!
I enjoyed this story and think it was an inspiration to us all, the fight for one father to try and help his son, although it did repeat a lot and so I feel the abridged version would be more benificial to read
