Publisher's Summary

Finding grace in the everyday...Kara Tippetts knows the ordinary days of mothering four kids, the joy of watching her children grow...and the devastating reality of stage IV cancer.

In The Hardest Peace, Kara doesn't offer answers for when living is hard, but rather she asks us to join her in moving away from fear and control and toward peace and grace. Most of all, she draws us back to the God who is with us in the mundane and the suffering, and who shapes even our unmet expectations and pain into beauty.

"This is a story about living more than dying."

This is not, as I thought, a story about cancer. It's about growing up, and love, and marriage, and how life takes us places we could never imagine. It's a story of God meeting us all in all the hard places of our lives, and transforming us through the grace we meet there. Have ordered the book, because I want a hard copy on hand.

    Any additional comments?

As an Oncology nurse and Christian with a best friend in the cancer battle, I found this book to be very near to my heart. This is an insightful account of a personal journey of faith, hope and love. Many thanks to the Author and her family for allowing others into her journey.

"A must read for this side of Heaven❤️"

Heartfelt..,real...grace breathed...love drenched...My husband always said, "A message from the heart, reaches the heart.". My heart has been reached and has been made full with words I want to share with others. My prayers extend to this family whom Jesus has laid a special nearness to as they continue their walk through the shadow of the valley of death.

    "Life-changing!"

This book is heart wrenching hard, but encouraging and inspiring at the same time. It makes me look deep at my own life to see all the little treasures I take for granted. It also helps me accept the hard in my own story. This is a story I will hang on to forever in my heart. My prayers are with the Tippetts family and I hurt with you. Thank you for sharing your life and love so freely.

"Amazing book, narrator hard to listen to."

I love this book. Only downside was the thick Midwestern accent from the narrator (not her fault). Definitely recommend it.

I am in the throughs of cancer myself. I am also a pastor's wife. This is my third time facing the reality of death as it has returned for the 3rd time in my bones. I was cancer free for 11 years. I don't know my prognosis at this time because I believe I can beat it again and the doctors are hopeful. But my trust is in the Lord. My life is in His hands. Kara's story is so inspiring and I look forward to meeting her in the sweet by and by with my other dear friends who left this earth to soon due to cancer. Kara makes me want to fight even harder for my children and two adopted daughters. But ultimately I know when He calls me home it will be right on time and He knows what's best for all of us. God bless the Tippets family and all those touched by Kara's spirit and life.
