It is very hard to be unmoved by this book. At times, Norman is struggling to keep the tears at bay himself.
I strongly recommend this book.
Find it hard to keep my head in a book but love to listen to them.
This is the best audio book I have heard, we all think we've had hard times but Funny Norman tells this from his heart.
A humerous, remarkable and sometimes emotional reliving of Norman's life as read by him. If you have a tenner to spend, spend it on this. A throughly uplifting and insightful read.
I got this and had to listen to it in one go. It is read by Norman Wisdom and you feel as though he is sitting talking to you personally, it isn't a bit like he is reading more like he is just speaking to you and at times he gets quite emotional. I have always liked him since being a kid and watching him on films and tv. Now I just love the man for his honesty, integrity and humour. Get it you will not regret it.
I really loved this book it had my in stitches, but also in tears,it is a heart rending tale of a
boy who rose above the adversity in his life and became a star.
The most memorable part is where Norman is eating his dinner alone on Christmas day, the solitude is so awful, you can really feel that it is one of his lowest points.
I enjoyed the scene where Norman met his Brother again by chance, after such a long time.
It was both sad and Happy and very emotional.
Loved this Book , would recommend it to anyone who Loved Norman Wisdom , he was a very Talented Performer and very athletic ,a tough Man, he endured a hard early life and managed to rise above his lowly roots to become a big Star.
As a child I loved Normans films and still enjoy them today. He may not have known it but his films helped many children to laugh at there own short comings and face the bullies of life. When I started to listern to him telling his life story and how poor his own chilhood was I couldn't help but cry. In a strange way I felt guilty that I wasn't there to help someone who had often made me happy as a child. This is well worth a listern and is all the better for being read by himself and I hope that one day soon it is made into a film as I think it would make a great movie maybe with himself played by Lee Evans.
this was an excellent story that could never of been done justice to if read by any one else.
Norman came over as exeptionaly meek yet proud of what he had achived and grateful for the opportunitys that he had been given. Baring in mind how his story started out he had every reason to be proud of his achievements.
But one thing I took from the end of this story was how a career in the limelight can take over your life and damage your relationships with loved ones if you are not carfull.
So all whould stars take not of this.
