In 1501, a 34-year-old professor bravely nailed his "95 Theses" to the door of a church in Germany, asking theological questions meant to provoke discussion about the Catholic Church's use of indulgences, also known as payment in exchange for God's mercy upon one's soul. This document led not only to questions but sparked the Protestant Reformation.
Martin Luther is a dramatized biography of the life of this persevering, courageous, and flawed man, narrated with bucolic British lilt by Geoffrey Hinsliff, the determined title character confidently performed by John Green, with additional characters provided by Gary Hope and Robin Scoby.
