The son of Italian immigrants, Lee Iacocca rose spectacularly through the ranks of Ford Motor Company to become its president, only to be toppled eight years later in a power play that should have shattered him. But Lee Iacocca didn't get mad, he got even. He led a battle for Chrysler's survival that made his name a symbol of integrity, know-how, and guts for millions of Americans.
In his classic hard-hitting style, he tells us how he changed the automobile industry in the 1960s by creating the phenomenal Mustang. He goes behind the scenes for a look at Henry Ford's reign of intimidation and manipulation. He recounts the miraculous rebirth of Chrysler from near bankruptcy to repayment of its $1.2 billion government loan so early that Washington didn't know how to cash the check.

"where is the rest of the book?"
I had the cassette version in the 90's. This book has only about 15% of the content. Why don't you tell us this is only a small portion of the original version before we buy it?
"not a biography"
this is a very superficial account of the mans life very little insight into what makes him tick, cant really learn much from this
a true detailed biography not the huge gaps like this one
cant say so
don waste the credit
Really good listen. Not sure why people aren't giving it five stars since its contents are informative; insightful, and concise! It whets your appetite to do his full biography, I mean you've only invested about an hour of your time. Come people, let's be reasonable...
I feel like I could have learned about the same amount just searching laconia on Google /Wikipedia. It didn't really go into depth
"Good and quick"
Good and quick summary of Iacocca's life. I liked it as introduction before considering one of his larger volumes
"I had forgotten so much and knew so little."
The guy impresses me even now. Current leaders should listen to what he has said and written.
Good listen for me as a business owner and entrepreneur, Lee Iacocca does a great job of narrating the book, Its well written and even at its short length it gives a great amount of insight
