Publisher's Summary

Revered in Newcastle and the North-East, Sir Bobby Robson is a man whose fame knows no boundaries and who enjoys phenomenal popularity. His hugely successful playing days with Fulham and West Brom in the 1950s and 1960s, his 20 England caps and his brilliant management career over the past 38 years mean that he has inspired generations of fans.

He has been witness to some of the most historic sporting moments throughout his incredible career, and in his book remembers epic incidents from the 'Hand of God' to the tears of Gazza. He also relives leading England through two World Cups, and the pain of coming within a penalty kick of the 1990 World Cup final.

Sir Bobby's story is a rich and diverse one and this autobiography will celebrate his remarkable life.

    "Bobby Robson"

As a football fan, it is wonderful to hear Bobby talk of his life and his memories of events throughout his footballing days. He was a gentleman in a game no longer blessed with men of character and honesty as was the case in his heyday - a thoroughly enjoyable experience to listen to him and football fans will be interested to hear about the salary and contract negotiations going on behind the scenes. This is not just for Ipswich and Newcastle fans, its for every football fan.

    "World class man and coach."

As an Ipswich season ticket holder and someone who watched Ipswich during the Robson years, I was rather nervous when I downloaded this book.
Would it portray Sir Bobby in the right light?

I had nothing to worry about. The man is a genius. Every young person should listen to this. It's a lesson in life and doing the right thing. He has honor and integrity in spades. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

"sir Bobby Robson...gone but not forgotten"

having listened to this audiobook i cannot recommend it enough. Sir Bobby was a true gent who was also a football master. He spent his career getting to the top of his profession when money was not the over riding requirement to obtain sucsess, a time when we as a footballing nation concentrated on bringing home grown talent to the top players playing for our clubs and then representing their country when the most important thing was, representing your country. It saddens me these great days of true english football have gone but memories contained within this book will always remain to show these golden days of our national sport.
Thanks for the memories sir Bobby.

Fantastic, you don't have to be a football fan to really enjoy this audiobook but if you are it's even more enjoyable.

"Great to hear Bobby, shame it is abridged"

Great to hear Sir Bobby Rodson talk about his life with such passion, but it is all too brief and abridged version of his biography.

Loved every minute of the story truly a great man living the dream of every boy who loved to kick a ball around the back streets of his home to reaching the very pinical of the sport that he loved so dearly.

"OVERALL I THOUGHT THE BOOK UNINTERESTING"

Because I am not an enthusiastic football supporter I thought the detail of information irritating, ideal for one who is searching for all of foot ball facts & figures.
I am afraid I am guilty of comparing the above , with another book I read about Bill Shankley , that hit all the right buttons.
