I'm known as "the most famous dog in Britain" and I still don't quite understand it...All I did was defend myself against an overly aggressive royal goose near Buckingham Palace. Suddenly the press was hounding me. Then, after I put paw to papers to tell my side of the story, it became a big best seller! And I was nominated for the Author of the Year Award - the only animal (Tom Wolfe is a man). I hope you'll like my "heartwarming story of triumph over adversity." It follows my rise from strayhood to life with a famous journalist. But what I really do is unleash all the secrets between Pet and Man - something even the feline/feather/fish-dependent will find fascinating!

An avid Audible listener for the past two years, it fits in superbly with my busy lifestyle. Love crime and historical novels most.
I had read this book years ago when my wonderful dog Charlie had just taken over my life. Sadly now both Charlie and Buster have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and I was really interested in listening to Roy Hattersley reading about his dog Buster. I still loved it but I'm sorry to say that Roy didn't read it with much passion and I think the book is probably better read. However, there are some real laugh out loud moments.
If you love dogs and have a very special dog in your life read about Buster, what a character and a special dog in Roy Hattersley's life.
"Don't miss this--"
My husband heard an excerpt from this audiobook on XM radio, and suggested that I look for it.
Ten minutes later, I downloaded it.
It is superb. I laughed out loud on many occasions. Usually authors are not terribly good narrators, but this is a notable exception.
You will love Buster and his Man, and relish the journey as Buster learns what it is like to be a dog.
Highest accolades here.
"fun!! fun! fun!"
Anyone that has ever had a terrier or just a naughty rescue will understand this book and laugh. Anyone who loves dogs will love this book. It is funny and honest and worth every second of the listen.
Thank you Mr Hatterley for adopting such a fine dog and thank you for giving him a voice
