Publisher's Summary

America by Heart is a highly personal testament to Sarah Palin's deep love of country, her strong roots in faith, and her profound appreciation of family. The book includes brief readings from classic and contemporary readings that have moved and inspired her, as well as Americans, both famous and obscure, whom she admires. Ranging widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, Governor Palin reflects on the key values that have been such an essential part of her own life and that continue to inform her vision of America's future.

"There is a point in listening"

I only read this out of curiosity - no great expectations of enlightenment - but to get some insight into a woman who could have found herself heading the only superpower. But it was enlightening in its way. SP and I come from different worlds, different world views, American Vs European, Religious Vs Atheist, optimist (and how!) Vs someone not so much pessimistic as having a fairly tragic take on the human condition. In the end I couldn't help quite liking her, and feeling glad I spent a few hours in her company.

    "Another excellent book by Sarah"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would... For my friends who share a common interest in Sarah and her family I would recommend this to them for them to enjoy!

What did you like best about this story?

Her honesty and way of telling her story.

Have you listened to any of Sarah Palin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoy them equally as well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    too many to narrow down.

    Any additional comments?

I can't wait to read more of her writing.

    "I loved this book"

It's especially nice to hear the author telling the story, it's more like a conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sarah Palin and find her a fascinating, honest and REAL person with real issues and problems, but with a faith she relies on.

"Not so different as you might think"

Personally, I found it enlightening as to her position on life. She seems very centered about how things logically progress and what it might take to get there. My only weakness is that toward the end she demonstrates very religious views, and while I personally support her ability to believe and practice as she wishes in her personal life, the idea of pushing those views on others certainly seems possible. Its a fine line between those who would believe they are acting correctly and forcing that way onto others as experience has shown. Certainly worth reading or listening to if you really want to develop a factual opinion on who and what she is. She makes no bones about who she is and that is certainly different from the other political rank and file that would have you believe they stand in your field with you, no matter who "you" are.

    "Too many quotes and religion"

I was a fan of Sarah Palin until I read this book. Too many quotes and religion for my taste.

    "Another Great Book!"

This book was even better than the first and full of insights into Sarah Palin's view of America and Americans that are in stark contrast to the media and the left. I love that she did the unabridged version herself which gives us a chance to hear the whole book straight from the author. This is a great book if you want to know what she is really about. It was well written and covered many areas. Great Book!

"Great book made even better by a great reader"

Gov Palin does a great job narating this book. You can tell that it flows from her inmost part, and that there's an unquenchable optimism about her that the left will never understand or care to know.

"More of the same from SP"

I don't ascribe to Sarah Palin's beliefs, but I always try to balance the equation with information from both sides. I couldn't finish this book. Not because I don't believe in what she says, but because it is more of the same, same, same talking points. Cliche'? Yes. Boring? Yes. Even if you are a Sarah Palin fanatic this is a boring book. I'm sorry I spent my credit on it.

    "From The Heart"

A great book read by a great woman. I am glad that Cain brought her to the forefront. I don't care what they say about Sarah Palin. This woman cares about America and our basic values. This is a credit well spent. Thank you, Sarah! Great book!

"Exceptional Look on the Exceptionalism of America"

This is what you'd expect from someone that loves America as much as Sarah Palin, but what you do not expect is her candid look at America's flaws. the writer uses many illustrations and quotes from great leaders of the past to demonstrate that America is not exceptional because America is perfect but America is exceptional because of America's foundations, families, and faith. The reader will enjoy a glimpse at Palin's family and her common sense approach.
