Il museo ospita 200 dipinti, 500 tra disegni e acquarelli, oggetti personali e quasi 700 lettere indirizzate dall'artista al fratello Theo e ad altri amici, spesso accompagnate da schizzi delle opere a cui lavorava in quel momento. Anche chi normalmente non si interessa di pittura è in grado di riconoscere i suoi celebri girasoli o la magia ipnotica della sua Notte Stellata.
