Publisher's Summary

Artist Oliver Jeffers talks to BookD about how he became a published author overnight and his campaign to get good picture books out there for the youngest readership of all. "It was all about landing on the right person's desk at the right time". Oliver is a rareity in the sense that he is not only an author, he's a freelance illustrator, fine art artist, and a big fan of self generatory projects in his new home town, Brooklyn, New York.

We talk about how he managed to divide his time to do all of these things and how to do them successfully. This podcast illustrates that artists posess many cross-disciplinary skills and how these talents are nurtured and exposed for all to appreciate.

We also listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar author, Eric Carle's, newest Childrens book 10 Little Rubber Ducks and Emma Chichester Clark's take on a little girl called Alice in a land of wonder.
