Yes, good summary of core ideas from In Search of Excellence. Managers should keep their eyes open and focus on the details (thousands and thousands of details) in order to engender a never ending question for total quality.
Jim Collins' many books (e.g. Built to Last, From Good to Great...) would be in a similar vein.
Tom conveys his passion for and deep belief in his message, namely that the search for excellence / quality is never ending, that it starts with the smallest step, that it requires intense focus on the small details and that it can start in any organisation...today!!!
Yes, as it is a distillation of In Search of Excellence the book is only one hour long.
This very short Tom Peters book was not at all impressive. The basic premise of the book is simple ideas can provide you with an inroad to excellence. Given the opportunity I would not have waisted one of my credits on this book.
Good examples, but few and strong and not easily applicable to the diversity of jobs there are.
