The rock-and-roll memoir of one of the world's greatest guitarists.
Yngwie Malmsteen's revolutionary guitar style - combining elements of classical music with the speed and volume of heavy metal - made him a staple of the 80s rock scene. Decades later, he's still a legend among guitarists, having sold 11 million albums and influenced generations of rockers since. In Relentless, Malmsteen shares his personal story, from the moment he burst onto the scene seemingly out of nowhere in the early 80s to become a household name in the annals of heavy metal. Along the way, he talks about his first bands, going solo, his songwriting and recording process, and the seedy side of the rock business.Malmsteen was named one of Time magazine's ten greatest electric guitar players.
The author's most recent album, Spellbound, was released in December 2012.

"Autobiography of Yngwie J. Malmsteen."
Absolutely, because it is an absolutely amazing book!
I like reading an autobiography, then you know it`s the truth. Books written by others can come up with falsehoods. This book is the truth about Yngwies life.
Vivid descriptions! Excellent!
That you get to listen to Yngwies amazing guitar playing. He is world class. I think he is by far the greatest of them all.
I recommend everyone to read it!
One Day I will be so close to his talent and skill and maybe even reach.
I thought he was a god, now I KNOW he is a god. really well written and good narrator. His story is thrilling and an icon of self improvement and relentlessness. (the title is PERFECT)
I loved every chapter of Yngwie's story. thank you for sharing it and your beautiful music with the world. as long as I have hearing I will appreciate your music
"Not as great as I had heard..."
I like Yngwie's music and had heard good things about this book. However, even though it has some interesting stories and insight into his life and career, most of it is just boasting. He pretends like he is being modest but really wants to let everyone know how awesome he thinks he is. He also repeats himself often. I'm kind of disappointed.
I'm not sure...
Yngwie: Brief. He only narrates the first few minutes. The other person dose a good job.
Yngwie is one of my guitar heroes. I had no idea about his life story until now. He does repeat things along the way but his passion is without question.
"Excellent but wish he actually narrated it."
This is a must read for any Yngwie fan however I'm totally disappointed he only read the first couple minutes.
"Yngwie is inspiration"
Very motivating and fun. Get it if you want to do more with what you got. Great knowlegde about songwriting too.
"Good about the bad side of Heavy Metal"
I was a fan of Malmsteen many years ago, but it kind of faded as I grew older and saw how cartoonish and sometimes ridiculous the 80s heavy metal scene was. I often wish I could go back to the time I didn't speak English and couldn't understand what Manowar sung about.
Malmsteen's biography gives a unique insight into the mindset of those crazy days when heavy metal ruled the scene in Los Angeles. It's about all the clichés, before they turned clichés by a guy who invented many of them.
I also enjoy the fact that after hearing the book I took out many of Malmsteen's old albums (and checked out some of his new ones) and I can testify to that they have aged less than many of his contemporaries. Rising Force is still a killer, and the tale told in this book is a good explanation of why.
"Great stuff. Yngwie fans will love this book."
Yngwie did a fantastic job on this book. Entertainment throughout. And now, if I had a cat, I'd have to rename it Yngwie J. Meowsteen.
