Peter May is the author of the internationally bestselling Lewis Trilogy, the China Thrillers, the Enzo Files as well as several standalone novels. He visits the Audible Studios on the release of his latest novel, Coffin Road, along with Peter Forbes, the illustrious and prolific audiobook narrator who has lent his voice to many of Peter May's books.p>

Short but fascinating discussion, not only about May's books, but also insights into the audio characterisations that bring them to life for the Audiobooks.
A man with a child in his ears
I found this conversation involving Peter May and Peter Forbes an interesting diversion from just listening to the stories. If you haven't read the book or any of the more "informative" reviews I'd suggest leaving it until afterwards. The Coffin Road reveals its plot very gradually and some of the reviews I've read and this interview may put you some way ahead of parts of that.
Both Peters are engaging conversationalists and you can certainly tell that Mr Forbes earns his money from talking :-)
In terms of the content I was genuinely surprised, given what a partnership they have been in audiobooks, that the author seems to almost completely divorce himself from the recording process. Obviously as the books prove it's something that works for them. May also briefly describes the process that saw him end up as an author eventually.
I would have liked to hear a bit more about the Coffin Road itself but on the other hand this does give some insight into the creative processes involved in writing and recording the books. I was also happy to hear Peter May discuss the key issue highlighted in the book with feeling.
Of course, as it's free, you have nothing to lose!
Free, short, great insights into writing and narration. Bit of a mutual admiration society but comes across as very genuine. Well worth a listen.
Once again audible has failed,,, every time I buy books there is a down load problem, I have talked on phone,,, logged out ,,, reloaded, Im sick of doing every time i buy a book
"One of the better Interviews"
May and Forbes come over as having great respect for each others' work. It flowed easily with minimal direction. Informative, revealing and entertaining.
