Summary

Here are world-famous explorer and national treasure Ranulph Fiennes' stories of a life lived to the very limits, recorded in front of a live audience.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes has been described by The Guinness Book of Records as "the world's greatest living explorer". He has led over 30 expeditions, including the first polar circumnavigation of the Earth and the first unsupported crossing of the Antarctic continent. He discovered the legendary Lost City of Ubar and has also completed seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. In his inspirational one-man show, Sir Ranulph enthrals theatre audiences with tales of his amazing exploits and astonishing feats of physical and mental endurance as a member of the SAS, and as an explorer and adventurer.

Ranulph and the stiff upper

It's his job. That's all. So Sir Ranulph goes unsupported over the Antarctic Continent. He is the epitome of understatement which provides us with the space to join him. He is my forever Hero

Don't listen while you're driving!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this title. Our only 'mistake' was to listen while we were driving to our holiday destination. Ranulph Fiennes for all his physical exploits and world travels has a superbly dry way of engaging with his audience. As an employer I particulary liked his criteria for employing people on expeditions! Some of his travel tales, especially those with Dr Mike Stroud who is equally compelling in his public speaking, will have you in stitches - check out the arctic trip. We were forced to stop the car at one point for crying so hard with laughter - fortunately there wasn't much traffic! And all of this for a good cause - enjoy!

An extraordinary man with a very dry wit

This is a speech by the quintessentially English explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes. With a marvelously dry wit, he tells of his exploits - triumphs and troubles - on various dangerous expeditions to inhospitable regions, in particular both poles. A highly enjoyable listen.
