England, 1346. For Thomas Blackstone the choice is easy - dance on the end of a rope for a murder he did not commit, or join the king's invasion. As he fights his way across Northern France, Blackstone learns the brutal lessons of war.
Vastly outnumbered, Edward III's army will finally confront the armoured might of the French nobility on the field of Crécy. It is a battle that will change the history of warfare.

"I see flashes of brilliance that surpass Bernard Cornwell." (The Bookbag)
"Page turning novel...a gritty book sparing nothing in its descriptions of the realities of Medieval warfare." (Daily Mail)
I don't know why Will Longdons accent suddenly changes to Welsh in this book, in the past 3 books he has had a London accent, I wouldn't mind if it was a different narrator but Colin Mace narrated the last book. I know it's not a big deal but it spoilt it for me, he is a main character and his accent should be consistent.
