Summary
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five ancient symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor Peter Solomon - prominent Mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving Peter is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon finds himself plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations...all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.
The Lost Symbol is exactly what Dan Brown's fans have been waiting for...his most thrilling novel yet.

You must listen to this book
I read this book many years ago but listening to it really brought it to life. The story has a great twist and keeps you guessing. I particularly like the fact that some of this fictional writing has its base in fact.
I would recommend it to anyone with an open mind.

Bad ending
Well performed. Good story in regards to suspense and pace. Not much depth of character except villain. The ending just really... Well, it basically just repeated something already mentioned. Waiting for a eurika that never came

Totally gripping from beginning to end
Another masterpiece by Dan Brown, for me this is the best one in the Robert Langdon series. This story will leave you questioning what is real and what is fiction with events unfolding rapidly, you will be on edge from beginning to end.

Struggled to maintain interest...
The narrator was good but the story just didn't captivate the way its predecessors did and saw the plot twist coming a mile off, was more a chore to complete.

Dan Brown does it again!
This was my first book I have 'read' as an audible book instead of the 'old fashioned' way. I was therefore a bit sceptical if I would like it. However it was great! This newest adventure of Harvard Prof. Robert Langdon was filled with the usual mysteries from Symbols and their varied meanings throughout history as well as perceptions of the Free Masons and their ?Hidden Secret Mysteries?. I enjoyed the narration and found this very easy to listen to, I would listen often before going to bed and the voice of the narrator helped me to relax and unwind. The book was filled with the usual twists and turns, surprises and moments where you held your breath as you intently listened on. Would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery that captures your imagination and keeps you wanting to read on. I believe you could also listen to this book without having read the previous ones. Overall Excellent!

Well narrated
really enjoyed this book. till the last few chapters. it seemed to me that Dan Brown was dragging it out. There was the normal twists in the plot, most of them I had figured out.
