Shortlisted for Audible's Listen of the Year, 2006.
Winner of the British Book Awards, Book of the Year, 2005.

A murder in the silent, late night halls of the Louvre reveals a sinister plot to uncover a secret that has been protected by a clandestine society since the days of Christ. The victim is a high-ranking agent of this ancient society who, in the moments before his death, manages to leave gruesome clues at the scene that only his cryptographer daughter and her symbologist friend can untangle. The duo becomes both suspects and detectives searching not only for the murderer, but also the stunning secret he was charged to protect.

A very easy enjoyable listen

I had read the book years ago but downloaded this for a recent journey. It was very enjoyable. Read well. 1/10 for the narrators Scottish accent though. :)

great story, better than the movie

I loved this story, it really explained things that I didn't understand in the movie. so Sophie wasn't the holy grail in the book, the mystery continues

Simply brilliant!

Even as a Muslim, this story touches me in every which way. The story had been brilliantly written and plotted as well. I can’t fault it in any way. At one point, I felt my eyes water, when Sophie finally met her family in Roslin so close to Edinburgh where I live. At another instance, at the very end, I involuntarily muttered God’s name and felt shivers right through my body when Robert Langdon dropped to his knees in prayer when he discovered Maryam’s tomb. Powerful story telling! 5 out of 5 for me!
