Trying to recover from the death of her husband, Karen is drawn into life on the Island. She becomes involved with the abrasive DCI Charlie Trench. And she has to get to know Spike's adoptive family, the rich and influential Falconers, who are closing ranks. Someone on the Island doesn't want Karen getting too close to Spike. I have always liked Natasha Cooper's books and this was no exception. A very enjoyable listen with plenty of twists and turns and superbly read by Penelope Freeman. I understand there are other recordings of NJ Cooper books - can we have them on Audible please?
Painter, jeweller, teacher. Passionate listener to audiobooks and reader of print books.
A new author for me - but I'll certainly read more - the book was well plotted and very well read- in all an excellent listen. Not unexpectedly there are lots of twists and turns and of course for Isle of Wight lovers it's a must read! A tiny bit predictable.
