Summary

Action thriller by the classic adventure writer set in British Columbia.

Bob Boyd is a geologist, as resilient as the British Columbia timber country where he works for the powerful Matterson Corporation. But his real name and his past are mysteries - wiped out by the accident that nearly killed him. Then Boyd reads a name that opens a door in his memory - Trinavant - and discovers that Bull Matterson and his son will do almost anything to keep the Trinavant family forgotten forever....

Critic reviews

"As long as meticulous craftsmanship and honest entertainment are valued, and as long as action, authenticity, and expertise still make up the strong framework of the good adventure/thriller, Desmond Bagley's books will surely be read." (Reginald Hill, Twentieth Century Crime and Mystery Writers)
"Bagley is a master storyteller." ( Daily Mirror)
"Mr Bagley has no equal at this sort of thing." ( Sunday Mirror)
"Very much of the moment. The characters are sympathetic and believable." ( Sunday Times)

Well above average

Desmond Bagley wrote many first class adventure stories, often set in far away places.
This is a proper action book, that goes along at a great pace.
This one is set in British Colombia.

Loved It

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Indeed I would. It's one of my favourite books.

What did you like best about this story?

The good overcomes evil aspect.

Which character – as performed by Paul Tyreman – was your favourite?

Has to be the main character - I have read the book many times and the narration was perfect.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not moved perhaps but it is thought provoking - how would you feel if you past was wiped out etc.

Master Story Teller

As usual with Desmond Bagley a good story with the usual twists and turns you've come to expect. I've listened to other books narrated by Paul Tyreman which were very good but he should steer clear of American accents of which he is rubbish, sorry Paul but it is a fact.

Awful narration .

This has to be the biggest, silliest, list of implausible , mellow dramatic cod’s wallop ever put together , the narrator sounded three parts drunk and to think of it he must have been to ever have taken on the task in the first place and kept topping up so he could get through to the end . I can’t believe Bagley would have wanted to claim this unless he too was the worst for drink .
