Summary

Dangerous Lady is the iconic first novel by Sunday Times No.1 best seller Martina Cole which catapulted her to fame and made her the 'undisputed queen of crime writing' (Guardian). This audio edition contains a bonus interview between author and narrator and is a must for fans old and new, and listeners of Patricia Cornwell and Karin Slaughter.

Maura, the Ryan clan's youngest and only daughter, is the last person anyone expects to take on gangland London. But with her eldest brother Michael by her side she fast becomes the queen of organised crime. Smart, tough and beautiful, no one is a match for her.

But with power comes a price, and Maura is forced to put her heart on the line. She might be a dangerous lady but everyone has a weakness....

Special feature: Martina Cole chats with Annie Aldington, who narrates her audiobooks about their favourite characters, books and the world of Martina's novels to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dangerous Lady.

Totally compelling

I have a whole shelf of paperbacks by Martina Cole. My favourite was always Dangerous Lady. This audiobook definitely brings the book to life. Awesome characters, especially Maura and Michael. Very hard-hitting. Heartbreaking storyline about the abortion and its consequences, which has always stayed with me.

Be prepared to get gripped by this book

OMG ! Annie you are the best narrator I have ever listened to - EVER! -so glad you were chosen to read Martina's amazing novel.

Dangerous Lady - is one of the most addictive books I have listened to so far, I found myself finding 'excuses' to listen to more as I went on. I had to stop for a day to let one particular shocking, sad and brutal scene 'set in' -(you'll know the part I'm on about when you listen), just goes to show how expert Martina is with her attention to detail when writing a novel.
I could relate to the large family lifestyle easily, which made this book even more enjoyable.
Now that I have finished it, I miss it. I miss hearing the banter between the characters, the twists and turns, the betrayal and revenge.
Can't wait to get stuck into another awesome novel by Martina!

Another brilliant listen

Oh Martina what a wonderful book. How on earth you write these books is beyond me, but you are superb. Annie Aldington delivers and narrates so well, perfect in fact.
Another book I could not stop listening too.
I am now hooked on this author and this narrator.

Could not stop listening

Was hooked in the first 5 minutes which is unusual for me. This was my second Martina Cole book- first being Two Woman which was also fantastic with brilliant narration. The story line kept you on the edge of your seat, I laughed and I cried along with the loveable characters. Didn’t want it to end so was delighted there was a second book in the series!!!! So within 30 minutes of finishing Dangerous Lady I’m about to start Maura’s game. Am pleased to see it is the same narrator.
