Summary

Shortlisted for the British Book Awards, Crime Thriller of the Year, 2008.

You DO NOT MESS with the Special Investigators!

The events of 9/11 changed Jack Reacher's drifter life in a practical way. In addition to his folding toothbrush, he now needs to carry photo ID to get around. Yet he is still as close to untraceable as a human being in America can get.

So when a member of his old Army unit manages to get a message to him, he knows it has to be deadly serious. The Special Investigators always watched each other's backs. Now Reacher must put the old unit back together. Someone has killed one of them, and he can't let that go.

Critic reviews

"Jack Reacher has the manliness of John Wayne, the coping skills of Jack Bauer, the fieldcraft of John Rambo, and the coolness of Dirty Harry." (Sunday Times)

Jacks Back

Reacher returns and this time its personal - they are after his guys. Critics might say this is more of the same but then fans will too. So turn your brain off, turn your mp3 on and enjoy!

Broken

It’s broken, jumping back and forth through the story, it played parts of “CD 4” before “CD 3”, mixed in randomly within the same chapter

Please fix so I can enjoy this otherwise great story

Broken recording

Don't buy this one - buy the one with the modernised cover with Alan Ritchson on - this is broken, abridged, and bad quality

the recording was all out of sequence.

it sounded like the recording had transferred from CDs. but whoever did it had played the CDs in wrong order.

Performance ruined by chapters presented in wrong order!!

This audio book ruined by sequencing of chapters / sections presented in wrong order. It said it was an abridged version but this was ridiculous. A shame because from what I assembled to be the storyline it appeared to be one of the best in the Reacher series

Not usual standard for Lee Child.

A short story and as a result rushed and the characters in the story do not really unfold. Things move fast and any conclusions are come to rapidly and at face value based on the need for speed.

Great story

Kerry Shale is a wonderful narrator who's rhythm and variety of voices makes listening a pleasure. The inflection adds to the tension and delivery of the plot. Well recommended.

Another great story

Again another great book. I`ve realy enjoyed listening to this series. Lots of exciting action and short sloppy bits. Have all of the titles so far and look forward to the next one. A must for you library.

A GREAT READ WELL READ

Any Lee Child / Reacher novel is exciting - this is no exception.

The story here is an excellent and nerve-wracking one, and the reading enhances this with a dynamic style which adds so much.

An excellent book.
