"[N]o page lacks interest and the novel's second half...is pure gold." (Publishers Weekly)
"Forsyth's extraordinary care with detail, his solid voice, and his exquisite pacing make this a totally engrossing thriller." (Booklist)
An excellent read that had me tied to my armchair until the book was finished. I look forward to my next Frederick Forsyth novel.
this is my favourite listen. I never get tired of the story line which in my opinion is very cleverly crafted and extremely informative of the events of the time one of the best listen for a long time
First class research gives the storyline a credible plausability
A subtle twist at the end
The avenger himself
Rendered subject to the law
at the moment. one the top books I have read.
Forsyth is a polished writer, his research is accurate and his story weaves in and out of recent historical facts - a terrific listen.
His accents are good and he brings gravitas to the story.
Spellbinding, gripping a true Forsyth.
Pretty good read 7 out of 10. I hadn't read Forsyth's stuff for a while but have kicked off with this book and just realyl enjoyed it. Found myself engrossed in the story and would recommend it to anyone who likes this type of yarn.
It has to be COBRA the follow up to AVENGER.
Not to my knowledge.
Good story,well read
This Forsyth got past me somehow. Not bad. You have to keep your attention as story jumps back and forth in time. The end is very far fetched but well read by Eric conger.
An interesting, well woven journey through complex characters and many of the conflicts of recent history. Forsyth presents characters well, with deep complexity and, in many cases, moral ambiguity. He creates a tremendously exciting and original story in Avenger.
Yes, I would definitely listen again, there was so much to hear and compute, I listened to several passages more than once.
I enjoyed the way that I was introduced to our hero, the story was set and then I was sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting!
Of course, The Avenger, was the one in which I was most interested. I enjoyed his two, separate characters.
I wasn't moved, but the death of Calvin's wife and child proved a necessity for his ability to become, The Avenger.
Listen for yourself!
