Fueled by an intensity he has not felt in years, Allon cautiously begins to investigate, but the more layers he strips away, the greater the evil that is revealed, a web stretching across sixty years and thousands of lives. Soon, the quest for one monster becomes the quest for many. And the monsters are stirring....
Filled with sharply etched characters and prose, and a plot of astonishing intricacy, this is an uncommonly intelligent thriller by one of our very best writers.

"Silva has crafted an exciting and complex novel. Recommended for all fiction collections." (Library Journal)
"Silva's characters are well served by Tony Goldwyn, who deftly delivers various foreign accents, transcending one narrative voice." (AudioFile)

My compliments to Daniel Silva! He has much to say as well as developing characters with depth & of interest. This is my first Silva novel & I immediately bought 2 others on the basis of this one.
Very well read ! Don't hesitate....you'll enjoy this one
From the description, I thought it would be interesting, but I was disappointed. While there are good/evil characters, I found myself not liking any of them or rooting for any of them. And there is basically no suspense...no surprises. The problem is that the good characters are too good...they have no flaws...they are perfect and nothing bad happens to them. Most children's books will have more ups/downs than this story. I have listened to several audio books and this is one I liked the least. Narration was good so I give one star for that.
An intricate, believable plot, combined with a powerful telling of horrors of the Nazi holocaust. Should not be missed
Great introduction to Gabriel Allond and the intricate world of international intrigue. strongly recommend it.
Loved the story as well as the narration. Tony Goldwyns voice was a perfect fit for this story.
Silvia's books are always stories that hold your attention until the very end! Quality writing at its best.
