Summary

The 5th novel in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. A young mother is recuperating in a top San Francisco hospital when suddenly she's gasping for breath. The call button fails to bring help in time. How and why did this happen? With help from the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, Yuki Castellano, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer discovers that this is not the hospital's first suspicious case. Other patients have taken unexpected and devastating turns for the worse just as they're planning to go home. Are these just appalling coincidences? Or is a maniac playing God with people's lives? When someone close begins to exhibit the same terrifying symptoms, Lindsay fears no one is safe. In a wild race against time she must fight an administration determined to shield its reputation even if it means hiding a killer...

Believable

A good storyline, well narrated. I liked the characters and how they were portrayed. It's scary that this could be possible and is quite believable. A nice twist at the end!

Good tale, awful narration.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The Narration is awful; mumbling, whispering then verging on shouting; I never knew what volume to have the headphones at. I persevered because the story was good.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot/overall story.

Did Pat Starr do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

No.

Did 5th Horseman: The Women's Murder Club, Book 5 inspire you to do anything?

No.

Any additional comments?

No.

Truly Boring Book!

One of the worst books it has been my misfortune to listen to! I doubt Patterson had any input writing it and the coauthor Maxine Paetro is responsible for this complete mess of a book. As if things couldn't get any worse, the narrator is absolutely painful to listen to as well!

Hell no

… 2 mins in and I can’t stand the narrators sloppy voice. Definitely not going to spend good hours of my life listening to this. Why do these people not get taught how to have so much audible spit in their mouth. It’s broadcasting 101. Ugh. Grossed me out.

Great book

The book is great but the narrator is dreadful, couldn’t wait to start book six for a new narrator.

Loved it

I love all these in the women’s murder club. Not sure I’ll be able to feel the same listening to a new narrator.

Really coming round to this series

Huge Alex Cross and Patterson Fan, Completed Alex Cross series and continued with Private series of books, needed a Patterson fix. Started with the first book in the series and came to visualise the characters. Still has all the twists I have grown to Love in Pattersons books and he as always paints a great bad guy/ girl. If you enjoy Alex Cross, persevere and give this series a go. On to the next one!
