Publisher's Summary

The forefather and patriarch you thought you knew.

After the Great Flood, the giant king Nimrod builds the Tower of Babel and unites the world in rebellion against the Creator. He seeks to achieve godhood as world potentate and bring in the pantheon of gods to rule with him.

But God has other plans. He causes the confusion of languages and disperses Nimrod's kingdom to the four corners of the earth, allotting the nations under the authority of pagan deities. He then chooses a simple nomad Abram as next in the line of the seed of Promise.

But Nimrod is not dead. He sets out on a course of revenge to find Abram and kill him in order to thwart God's plan of creating a people for his own inheritance. As Nimrod's quest drives him deeper into madness, the stakes rise. The land which Abram is being given is Canaan, where the goddess Ashtart is carrying out her own plans of breeding the seed of the Serpent.

The War of the Seed is rising.

Chronicles of the Nephilim is in the mythic genre of The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, blending fantasy and mythopoeia with history to retell the Biblical narrative with a fresh perspective, while staying true to the original spirit of the story.

"effortless blending of Scripture and history"

love to hear stories. especially when they come from the Hebrew T'nach and blended with culture, myth and history but I just hear a compelling story with these details used as light and shade in a painting.

    "Darkness and evil"

I realize that Abraham live during a time of Idol worshiping. But, in this novel there is a lot of barbaric, lewd, lasciviousness, and horrific things
that happened. These graphic descriptions were hard for me to listen to, so I skipped several chapters.

    "too much graphic sexual content"

Especially for a Christian writer. it goes way beyond necessary to convey the point of moral depravity, too the point that I became embarrassed to listen to it out loud if anyone else was around.

    "Abraham"
Would you listen to Abraham Allegiant again? Why?

Yes. Excellently written and narrated. Gave me a whole new perspective on the entire story.

What did you like best about this story?

Though I know this is a work of some fiction, there is much truth threaded throughout the entire Chronicles series. This, along with the other books in the series, shows that Yahweh-Elohim Himself is in FULL control of all. And, evil surely has an end no matter how wicked it thrives to be.

Have you listened to any of Brian Godawa’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I just wished I'd listened from start of the series to finish. I began with Jesus Triumphant, which is EXCELLENT by the way. Then I listened to Noah, David, then Joshua & Caleb, Gilgamesh, then Abraham. I wished I'd listened in its order.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. Sarah and Hagar actually talked and the strife I felt between them for so many years while reading about Hagar in scripture gave me a better heart over that difficult situation.

    Any additional comments?

Excellent. Brian Godawa has done it yet again! Wow, what a great imagination.

    "Abraham Alegiant, Food for Thought"

I learned a lot about ledgends, tradition and history. The modern colloquialisms reset into the time period and the pet names used as they are, are distracting. I love the appendages. The theme's are interesting as are the plots. They have caused me to look at certain passages in the Bible when viewing along side of history, and traditions of the Jewish people and the world, with a renewed desire to know the truth of God's word.

"great way to help one get a grip on this outlook"

thank you for putting this view on the Bible and the ancient world view into perspective. I know that the soup of the stories you tell in your series is fanciful and personal spin. But if you know what you're listening to it reading, it's great material! When I first casually speculated to myself that maybe all of these religions and pantheon's of gods may just be the same beings, and realized that I was SOOO far from being the only one that made this realization - I needed something to help root it in my head.. The moment or realization was.. unbelievable, and to hear these audiobooks use the fact/fiction mash-up method to put things in a "real world" setting made it so much more - oh, I don't know, bearable? real? - babblebabblebabble.. this series is amazing and it's message is perfect, helpful and aids in coping while your brain is buzzing from shock-overload... that's what I'm sayin' lol. God Bless, and
