"enjoyable and effective"
It's a classic. I was surprised how enjoyable I found this book. I bought it to see what all the fuss was about rather than with any intention to change what I did, but have tried the suggestions and been impressed with the results.
It's well-written, in a conversational style and the reader is excellent. It collects together many stories of how people have had success in winning friends and influencing people, so it's not a coldly scientific work. The suggestions are easy to apply and sound simple (such as trying to make the other person feel important in some way), but I've used them to good effect to improve personal relationships in my personal and professional life.
It's a pleasure to listen to and discuss with friends as a work of literature- the classic self-help book.
