I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and didn't want it to end. The individual stories were beautifully written and the narrator was brilliant making the characters really come to life!

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

I loved this book, it's a brilliant sequel to The Winds of War! Yes it requires a huge time commitment, but it is well worth it. I have enjoyed Kevin Pariseau's narration, mainly as there are less British accents for him to have a crack at.

There are some really harrowing sections that are delicately handled, on an audio par with the scenes in Schindlers List with the little girl in the red coat!

If you have downloaded The Winds of War - it is almost the law that you have to listen to War & Remembrance!

I have loved every minute over this incredibly long book!! My ipod earphones have been glued into my ears for days...I now fear there may be permanent damage. Despite that fact this book is over 45 hours long, it still rockets along nicely.

My one tiny issue is the narrator's attempt at some English accents, but hey, my New York accent is appalling!!!

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in WW2 novels.

Darn good fun, even if you have to suspend belief just a little bit - I mean seriously, how many tight spots can one action man get himself out of!! The narrator does a great job and I can't wait for my next credit so I can download the next in the series!!

Its aim: to protect the Realm, by any means necessary. The Night Action alert calls Bond from dinner with a beautiful woman. GCHQ has decrypted an electronic whisper about an attack scheduled for later in the week. And 007 has been given carte blanche to do whatever it takes to fulfil his mission.

Not sure what the Ipod version of "page turner" is, but I thoroughly enjoyed this new James Bond. Had to invent new ways of hiding my earphones so I could continue listening at work!
Toby Stephens does a great job with the narration and I'm hoping Jeffery Deaver continues the Bond series.

Although this is a very long book at 45 hours, it is worth it in the end. I really enjoyed it and thought it was well written and well narrated. Some content is definately unsuitable for youngers ears though some be warned.
