"Absolutely Miranda"
This audiobook is a must hear, I found I was laughing out loud at some parts and cringing with her at others, the way that Miranda is reading makes you feel she is actually talking to you. A definate one to download, brilliant.
"Laugh out loud funny"
That just about says it all, I laughed out loud; I didn't even think who might hear, she just made me laugh loud and hard. Oh, and she made me want to send a copy of this to everybody I could think of!
"Super!"
I was a late adopter of the Miranda marvel but better late than never. Sample it and you won't miss the fun fest.
"Born to be an Audiobook writer."
This audiobook is simply fantastic.
I got it because I had a 8hr flight ahead of me and thought it would be a good way to kill some time.
I had only heard one audiobook before and I had been very disappointed about it, but I thought I should give it another try, so I choose this one.
I choose it because I figure it would be easy and light to hear over the long hours ahead, and it was. Of course if your familiar with the author you know she's meant to make you laugh, but hearing her through the pages just made it a wonderful experience. Like having your own personal stand up comedy show playing over the headphones.
One fair waring tho; it might draw some attention to you, as you will be very likely end up laughing about all her nonsense and you might as well end up shouting some random answers to her questions.
If you are in the edge of trying an audiobook this is the way to go. It will make you love the whole experience.
"No, it's not just you!!"
A wonderful mix of the profound and the hilarious. What a wonderful technique to have conversations with her 18 year old self as a way of showing how, over the years, she has learned to accept herself as she is. Few of her teenage dreams have come true yet, at 38, she is enjoying life and is full of hope for the future. A message for all of us in the midst of laugh-out -loud stories of mayhem. Listening to Is it just me? in the car is like having Miranda as a travelling companion. You miss her when the book ends.
"Hello chums...."
Miranda Hart is my favourite female comediene Her great TV series has won her a bundle of awards and millions of fans. But things haven't always gone smoothly. Miranda's life has been one long, awkward and rather embarrassing journey.
Miranda knows she isn’t the only one with problems. So she asked the British public to share their own most excruciating moments. During July thousands of people sent Miranda their stories on Twitter (@NoItsUsToo), and these have now been published by Hodder in an ebook, No, It's Us Too!
Quote
"Whether you are a bit famous or not famous, young or old, tall or short, dark or fair, beanpole or Rubenesque, soprano, alto, tenor or bass – I am hoping you might relate to my tales, rants and musings," Miranda Hart says. "I’m hoping it’s not just me. Let us for now park life’s big issues. Let’s forget the economy, forget war, forget births and deaths and biubbins. Let’s buckle down to the nuance-y nub of life on our literary romp. I’m talking dating; I’m talking holidays and all that blooming beach etiquette. I’m talking how to cope with being mistaken for a pregnant lady on the bus when all you’re really carrying is a secondhelping-of-pie-and-mash baby. Not that that has ever happened to me. (It has.) I’m talking not feeling awkward having a massage; I’m talking how to use chopsticks with grace. The real coalface of life. I’m not sure I’ll have all the answers to these conundrums. But I’m practically an expert having made every mistake going, and it will be a pleasure simply to get these weighty issues off my chest. Or issues off my weighty chest. Either works."
Hilariously funny. I kept laughing out loud whilst walking the dog, getting really curious looks from other dog owners who are now convinced I am potty. But thanks Miranda, you've bightened up my winter. x
"So entertaining!"
I'd highly recommend listening to this book rather than reading it! Miranda's character comes across so strongly in the way she reads it, as well as through the book itself. Extremely entertaining from start to finish!
"Funny!"
I really love Miranda and she always makes me laugh. This is Miranda's life in her own words - you hear her talking to her younger self about what her younger self thinks is going to happen in her life and what actually happens. It's very funny to listen to. I did have to listen to it over a few days as it's over 7 hours. but it's worth listening to.
"MDLC"
As MDLC, I listened and laughed out loud; feeling a kin to 38 year old Miranda as I too at 38 and 5ft9 have had an often awkward existence here on planet earth...not quite as bad, sorry Miranda but by 2ft shorter I can at times still mingle and disappear into the crowd, Soz!
Great listen, well done Ms Hart!
"Amazeballs!"
This book was a geat listen it had me laughing out loud I can't wait for her to write another! With Miranda herself narrating it really brings it to life and puts you right there with her in some of her situations.
