"Best Book I Have Ever Read"
As simple as that. The best book I have ever read.Have listened to the story twice, that's 33 hours of magic and worth every penny.
"Non stop listening pleasure"
I have always liked Archer's books but still read all the reviews carefully before making this purchase. As everyone else has already stated, this is an excellent story, with enough twists to keep you enthralled. To me, this is probably the best Archer that I have read or heard. It certainly is the best audio book that I have purchased to date. What really makes it stand out is the narrator; absolutely first class. He has captured the characters so well that it seems to draw you in to the story as though you were actually there. I am tempted to buy another one of the books that he brings to life, but am uncertain if I would like the story, but I am sure I would enjoy his rendition of it.
Overall, this is an excellent book that should be in your collection, you won't regret buying it.
"A Prisoner of Birth"
An excellent book, i was unable to put it down, many twists and turns.
"An enjoyable story"
I really enjoyed this audiobook, I got the unabridged version. I agree with the previous reviewer, 16 hours whistles by. The book really keeps your interest and you start to care what happens to the main characters which for me is essential for my enjoyment of a story. There is also a short interview with Jeffrey Archer at the end which gives you a bit of insight into what went into writing the book. I listened to the book on my long walk to work and was always disappointed to have to turn it off.
"Great Reader - Good Story"
Having never read Jeffrey Archer before I was persuaded by the good reviews. I enjoyed this book for the most part, particularly the narrator. However I found some sections boring, and didn't quite appreciate being given lessons in etiquette. I also found the metamorphosis of Danny totally implausible! Notwithstanding a good read and I am almost tempted to listen to his latest book.
"Archers arrow hits the target"
A gripping tale where the story moves along with just enough incidental descriptions. Can't wait to get to the end to see how it all works out but at the same time don't want it to end. Two stories in one that meet collide and separate. Thoroughly recommended
"Absolutely Brilliant!"
A fantastic story with great twists and turns. Wonderfully narrated. I couldn't stop listening! I would definitley recommend it. Reminded me somewhat of John Grisham.
"Surprisingly Good"
I've never had any inclination to read a Jeffrey Archer book before. However, I stumbled across this one while browsing the site and was won over by the positive reviews.
It only took ten minutes of listening and I was completely hooked! The story is riveting with many unexpected twists and turns. The Narrator, Roger Allam, is brilliant; the audio quality is top notch; and the chapter marks actually match up with the story for a change!
I'd recommend this book to anyone and will certainly be investigating some of Mr Archers other work.
"Fantastic Listen"
Wow, what a brilliant book from start to finish. I couldn't stop listening. It's just a shame it had to come to an end.
"a great choice"
I picked this as my first audio book; I am an avid book reader and wasn?t so sure I could listen to someone else?s style of reading... but I was very pleasantly surprised. I was gripped from the beginning. An excellent story, great characters and the narrator does a splendid job.
