This book is an ideal accompanying text to the Bible. It corrects all those irritating little errors that are so abound, especially in the Book of Revelations. Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman team up to reveal the prophecies of Agnes Nutter in a hilarious holy text that all true theologians should read. I read this book when it first came out (more than once, actually) and having had that copy stolen-by-loan many years ago, was pleased when I saw that the audio version was available.

It's probably on one of those "Hundred-Books-To-Read-Before-You-Die" lists somewhere, but I would ignore that and read it anyway.

Another great Prachett story this time infused with the darkness of Neil Gaiman, the combination is fantastic and Stephen Briggs narration is spot on. This is a bit of a change from Terry Pratchett's normal books, moving away from the familiar discworld to a more local setting. The story involves a prophesy for the impending apocalypse and an angel and demons attempt to thwart it so they can carry on enjoying their time on earth.

Both Pratchett and Gaiman at their very best. The writing is a delightful mix of both writers unique flow. Stephen Briggs is a fantastic reader and a joy to hear. I usually can listen to a book nearly all through my day, but here I had to pause whilst among co-workers and customers, because I was laughing out loud at, seemingly, random.

I love this book and have read it in paperback so many times that it was getting quite dog-eared. However, having it read to me by the brilliant Stephen Briggs made it a far richer and more-involving experience. It's a great adaptation and I listened every moment I could, even in the bath. Highly recommended.

Funnier and better written than The Omen this is a brilliant take on angels, demons, witch-finders, witches, prophets and of course the anti-christ.

Pratchett and Gaiman created a wonderful (if demonic) baby together. There are definite echoes of the Discworld in some of the characters - which is all to the good - even if this is firmly rooted on Earth.

Some truly brilliant concepts and a great story.

This is a great book if you are new to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman as it offers the best of both authors, humour and existential angst. I would say it crosses all boundaries and it would be a bit narrow minded just to be placed in the SF category.

As to the narration Stephen Briggs walks a fine between engaging and over acting, however, it is still excellent. Each character is well delivered and you know who is speaking by the deft change of his accent.

All in all this is a great book to read but also a great book to listen to. If you are considering either author but have never come across their work this is a good, easy, starter to get into. If you like this book then you should explore other Pratchett books as they are of a similar vein.

I first read this book many years ago and loved it so much that I by re-reading the paperback it fell apart. The combination of two of the best fantasy/sci-fi/comic/humours writers of the modern age means that this is class from beginning to end. There is not a character in this book that I cannot get a clear picture of in my head and Stephen Briggs' tone and reading style really bring this book to life. Hopefully, I won't break this copy by wearing it out and will be going back to it again and again as I did in the paper back version.

I've been so put off by the Long Earth and the Dodger that I've had doubts about this one too - it looked like the Discworld was Pratchett I liked, and the rest was a bit duh.

I am glad to say I was wrong; think Discworld mixed with American Gods, and you'll know what I mean.

OK, it's a bit straightforward in places, but what do you want from a piece of SciFi about the apocalypse?

An enjoyable listen, and long may it continue.
