    "Compulsory listening"

I originally owned the audio cassettes of this recording, one tape of which got damaged so I was very pleased to see it was available on Audible. Although the political references are foreign and seemingly ancient - the book was written in the USA in the early 20th century - it is still as relevant today as it was when written. This book is not just for salespeople, it is not about personal growth or finding a life-partner, it is just about oiling the wheels of interaction with other people; master this and everything else will follow. Highly recommended.

    "I can see why it's a classic."

Probably one of the best books I have ever read.... ooops listened too :-). It examines some of the most successful people in history from all walks of life and breaks down into simple steps what habits they formed to help them be successful. I have started to put into place some of the advise given in this book and found that people are far more receptive when you learn to put your ideas into the correct package. In a nutshell this is what this book will teach you to do. Package your ideas and help motivate those around you, this isn't just a business thing but I found it helpful with parenting my 8 and 6 year old boys.

    "Rubbish"

The narration got on my nerves and the book itself seemed patronising and obvious (and dated). I also got really irritated by the way it was written; it kept telling me what I should be thinking; "By now you're wondering why you should bother. I will now tell you and you'll realise I'm right." Maybe that's a personal thing but I just found it unbelievably bad.

"A timely reminder: business is more than money"

The book though not rocket science simply and strongly reminds us that were all in roughly the same boat and seeking to get along as best we can. One of the best things we can do better whether it's business or pleasure it to become more affable, sociable, moral and humane in our dealings with others. We can all gain something much more valuable than money; not only making ourselves and others more financially prosperous but in turn helping to making the world a much better place for us all to share and live in.

    "A Must Read and Listen"

All I can say about this book is that it is a MUST read and LISTEN.

Life can be so much powerfully lived if Andrew Carnegie's research and experience is allowed to shape the way one sees others and the world in general. I was blown away as I listened because my mother taught me some of these principles here written in this generation spanning volume. I am changing.

    "This is my church"

No single piece of work has changed my approach as deeply or drawn attention to my personal flaws as much as this. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I had thought myself to be quite the diplomat until I heard the points discussed here. How wrong I was.

It is wonderfully narrated and a pleasure to listen to. Just wait until you're two thirds through and you realise he uses the exact same techniques he suggests in the very book you're listening to. Sneaky badger!

"You see results - fast !!!"

This is no joke. I started this book being very cynical thinking you can have anecdotal tales that prove anything, and really this is such a "dated" book that it was probably a mistake buying it ...but something struck a chord as it is really well narrated and so I decided to put it to practice.

...at the risk of sounding like an anecdote from from the book .... I had recently been missold something at a large retail store and had been back 3 times, and got no joy. So, I wrote a letter looking at it from their point of view rather than mine. My usual letters would have been stern and objectionable and damning of their customer services, and usually I'd get back a response just as challenging, and this goes on for a while until I give up, or win the argument. Anyway, usuing the approach in this book which is so easy to follow, two days later, a phone call, with an apology, and a refund for £109...sorted. I tell you - I'm bought on this. Its also helped me settle a dispute with an awkward colleague who loves to argue. I settled the debate in one email - to my satisfaction - as opposed to 6 or 7 which it would usually take.

It's read in a very listen-able format and I echo the sentiments of the majority of reviews on here - listen to this - it will change your outlook on human behaviour, and take it from me...it works.

    "Brilliant"

Reading this makes interaction skills sound like common sense, although we don't do it often enough! So many sections were, and remain true, and it's just amazing how easily we forget the simple things that help to make human interaction relatively simple and easy. If everybody read this book I reckon then world would be a far better place to live!
    Enjoy, I don't think you'll regret it.

"A must have book for managers, mothers or both."

I loved this and have listened to it three times back to back, in case I had missed any of the messages. Really lovely. This is going to help me enormously when dealing with people as I am a mother and a manager.
