A really easy listen and very enjoyable. Aimed at young adults (not too young as some of the issues might take some explaining)but no less thrilling for it. I'm off to download book two right now!
Yes I know that this book is technically a teen fiction but at *mumbles age* I simply loved it. With it’s characters that my teenage self (long forgotten in the mists of time), fell in love with and a story that carried me along effortlessly. I would urge you to take a chance on it. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but you won't be sorry.
This may well be teen fiction but I am 33 years old and loved this.
It took a bit of geting used to, a world without love where love is banned and religion and life has been re-written. I guess you do spend most of the book desperately wanting Lana to "see the light" so it can be frustrating at times, but the book is about her journey and as it's a trilogy the story is about her development and change.
It's a good idea for a story, and I like the change from the current endless Vampires, ghosts, witches, angels, fairies in books... It's a futuristic life story and a clever idea. It's very American as is the narration, but it's well worth a listen and certainly took the bore out of my comute.
