Both a dystopian masterpiece and a timely cautionary tale of what could happen if the powers that be monkey around with the food chain for their own ends, "Meat" breaks new ground in horror fiction.

Having been a horror/suspence fan for far to long to mention I listened to Meat and was transported to a whole new level. This is a what if book with some of the most graphic and disturbing scenes I have ever listened to and it really does mahe you think - even if you vegitarian it will make you look at the foodchain in a whole new light.

I bought this book on the strength of the excellent Audible reviews. To start with I thought I was onto a good thing - genuinely gripping horror and mystery, with a lot of tension, but I have to say that I thought the book lost its way with the tension dissipating away to a rather humdrum ending, and increasingly large holes in both believability and the plot.
I cant say that I would recommend the book, but to be fair others seem to be more enthusiastic.

An incredibly thought provoking book, a gritty and original plot. Puts better known authors to shame.
