Josie Litton
- Unabridged
Narrator: Josephine Bailey
Length: 12 hours and 47 min.
Set in ninth-century England and Norway, Dream of Me tells the story of Wolf Hakonson, a fierce Norse chief who falls in love when he kidnaps the sister of his rival, Hawk, a prominent Saxon lord. Wolf marries the lovely Cymbra but their wedded bliss is short-lived. First the women of the settlement refuse to accept their Saxon mistress who turns out to have emphatic abilities, and then Wolf must face the wrath of his brother-in-law. Inevitably, true love triumphs, but the peace brought about by their union is precarious.

The problem that I had with this is that I thought the story was very, very good. But as i'm reviewing this as an audio book i have to take the overall end product into account.I felt that the big drawback was with the narrator. She was very mechanical and at some points she sounded like one of those machines that replicates voices. Her characterisations suffered for this and it seemed that she was much more concerned with her diction than instilling emotion into her voice. A very monotone experience. I am now going to go and buy the book to read myself as I know I will enjoy this more.
